I got this problem since I play KCNR, I try to shoot a player who's far away and can't damage him, yet he can damage me.
Today we had a little shootout and we were at the same places as the video shows, I aim directly at him and only see the animation of hitting him and not damaging him, yet he does the same and damages me..

Maybe a bit late, but better late than never.


In short:
The edge is fake. You hit the wall on your screen, albeit invisible.

In overly long full detailed explanation and examples, graphs with circles and arrows:
Go to 4d's front door and drive away into any direction.
Keep looking at that roof while you drive away, at one point you will notice the roof's altitude decreases by a noticeable amount, it will look like a fading effect, switching the old structure to the new less-detailed one.

Some buildings even cause the players standing on it to appear having a falling animation. You cannot hit a falling animation at all so ur screwed.

The solution:
There was a reason why groups started doing shootouts inside buildings rather than outside and that reason was not the fake edge, however annoying that was, but the reason was Rustlers/choppers. That reason is also a solution to your problem.

All edges have this and all edges are abusive. The ones on the pink swan are the worst. You can see through 80 percent of the hittable surface -_-.
Shadows for example hover above the ground by 0.1 samp units. That off-set between actual surface and surface you can stand on only becomes bigger.
